OLYMPIC GAMES 2016: LET’S NOT LEAVE OUR CHILDREN ASIDE
From August 5th to the 21st, Rio de Janeiro will host the 31st edition of the Summer Olympic Games. With the world’s spotlight focusing on it, this event constitutes a true opportunity to get the attention of millions of people and raise awareness about the social conditions in which thousands of young Brazilians live.
Casa do Menor, that has been working in this environment for almost 30 years, has decided to launch a fundraising campaign with the aim of having the whole world understanding how low life expectancy is for abandoned Brazilian children: 24 of them die every day on the streets because of drug traffic, violence, prostitution, etc.
Without today’s children we won’t have any athletes tomorrow. Without today’s children, we won’t have no tomorrow.
Why thinking about tomorrow then if we are not able to take care of today’s children?
